Trisha Dunbar

Hi, I'm Trisha the founder of Language Learners Journal. A blog dedicated to empowering and promoting a more holistic approach to independent language learning and teaching across the UK and beyond.

My educational background is in psychology (and history too!) I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Research and a Diploma in Historical Studies from the University of Oxford. I'm a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology from The Open University and hold Advanced Diplomas in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Higher Education Certificate in Social Science.

I am passionate about promoting good physical and mental wellbeing via mindfulness, sleep hygiene, exercise, diet, and nutrition. I also work with students to develop positive growth mindsets. This enables them to become more efficient language learners. I have been practicing mindfulness for over 20 years and facilitate mindfulness workshops, groups, and one-to-one sessions.

In my spare time, I love learning languages and drinking coffee! My love of languages is much deeper than just learning them, as a researcher, I'm very interested in the sociology and psychological aspects of language formation and the neurological impact that words can have on a person.
